Journey to Phuket!
After spending a couple of days amidst the hustle and bustle of Bagkok, we made our way to the sandy shores of Phuket, Thailand! The casual, laid-back, beach town atmosphere was a welcome change from the overcrowded streets of Bangkok. Here we stayed at the Waterfront Suites by Centara, just minutes away from Karon beach. Once settled and well rested, we made our way to Karon beach to watch our first sunset on the beach. Even for a kid from Hawaii, the sandy shores, warm water and gorgeous sunset were absolutely amazing. As the sun set beyond the horizon, we made our way to Karon Temple night market just down the street. Here we found ourselves browsing through stalls selling everything from souvenirs and imitation goods to local snacks and fried foods. We had even purchased a bag of fried grasshoppers somewhere along the way! With our spirits restored and tummies fulfilled, we called it an early night in preparation for our exciting adventure the following day.
